Objective

Premier Radio and the London Diocese are developing a project to encourage 21st century Christian communicators. This initiative will be accredited, and recognition will be given by the Bishop of London to those who graduate from the scheme.

Details of the Scheme

  • Premier and the London Internet Church jointly promote across the city this initiative.
  • Potential applicants attend a significant launch event (venue- St Paul’s?)
  • At this one-day conference resources and training are highlighted to enable the candidates to develop their expertise in media communication.
  • The mechanic of the scheme is explained and candidates are recruited.
  • It is envisaged that the 18-30 demographic would be the most responsive to this initiative.
  • Our aim is to develop a small new media team in every parish in the London Dioceses.
  • In order for candidates to receive accreditation they must create new media programming on a regular basis and upload it to the London Internet Church website.
  • Full accreditation is given as London Ambassadors / College of Communicators project, when three items of work are published.

Benefits

  • The London Internet Church receives an ongoing initiative range of programme material.
  • Churches across the Dioceses are encouraged to develop new media skills, which will overlap into the life of the church.
  • Young people across the Dioceses feel that the church is engaging in relevant mission.
  • As technology develops, homes in each Parish will be linked with their local church in meaningful way.
  • Bishop of London will have ongoing access to a range of communication across the Dioceses.
  • Diocesan wide initiatives will have the potential of a new media dimension.
  • It will transform communication across the Dioceses.
  • It will ensure that the wider UK community perceive the London Church as being relevant in its mission.
  • This will encourage significant development in the use of video, podcasts and blogs from church members across the Dioceses as they are encouraged by how easy technologies are to use.

Advantages

  • To create a portal that does not compete with anybody else.
  • The aim of the project will be to lead people to a deeper relationship with Christ and his church.
